Yesteryear Collection

The Salisbury City Police Force was formed in 1836, three years before the Wiltshire Constabulary. At its inception as a full time salaried force it was the only urban force in the county and consisted of approximately twenty officers.
During the early 1930’s the motor car was having a dramatic effect on life within the city. At the request of the Chief Constable a car park was constructed, street parking restrictions were imposed, traffic lights erected and 30mph speed limit signs sited on all approaches to the city.
The Salisbury City Police remained an independent force until amalgamation with the Wiltshire Constabulary following legislation in 1946.
The limited edition model has been commissioned to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Wiltshire Constabulary.
